Gardeners

We are Sam and Debbie Jenkins, the gardeners. Avid gardeners for so many years, we started growing vegetables, herbs, and flowers in containers in Florida and Maryland. In 1993, we moved to Pennsylvania and bought a farmette. Soon after, the gardeners started an herb, vegetable and flower farm business which was state certified organic. We call ourselves gardeners because the farming operation included six individual gardens scattered throughout the farm, collectively comprising about an acre. Most of the annual plants were started in our two greenhouses. We loved our farming operation, which included a small barn and shed which were used to retail our products, including fresh and dried herbs, fresh vegetables, fresh and dried flower bouquets and other assorted products.

Several years ago, however, we started home schooling our two boys, and with that, along with Sam’s full-time job, we reluctantly decided that the farm business would suffer (or we would), and we closed down operations. Not long after that, it occurred to us gardeners that other gardeners could benefit from our knowledge and experience, and we could continue to pursue our primary devotion. So in our spare time, we started writing it all down. It became obvious after awhile that we could write a book or perhaps start a website. Well, the website came first, and maybe the book will come later.

The website is dedicated to gardeners everywhere in the world and in particular to novice gardeners. Whether in business, starting a business, or gardeners who just like to grow tasty, nutritious food for their family and friends or beautiful flowers to surround themselves, there is information for all. Debbie is the webmaster and blogger, and both gardeners write all of the content.

The website’s primary mission is to present useful information on the many aspects of gardening to both serious gardeners and those not so serious gardeners who have found that gardening is a fun hobby that can produce tremendous results.

We want this to be your website, so please email us with questions or suggestions on new subject matter, and we will do our best to accommodate. You can email us at  info@gardensaplenty.com.  In the meantime….

    Be Happy and Fruitful Gardeners!
